Quotes of the week

Hear from some of the most impactful users to drive changes

I really do like this website better than Google, mainly because of privacy. With Google, everything you search, even in their incognito mode, still pops up in other social media apps or as ads in different apps you use day to day. Brave makes sure that doesn’t happen, nor have I seen ads reflecting recent searches with this browser. Plus you can listen to YouTube videos with the screen off on your device. Safari never does that! Though it’s still finicky and glitchy to listen to those videos with the screen off, at least you have the capability to do so. Hopefully Brave has the opportunity to look into that.

I started using Brave Browser recently as my primary way of adventuring online, and I can say I have had a great experience. Internet privacy is important and I appreciate that Brave puts focus on this and has the privacy applications turned on by default. While total internet privacy is a nearly impossible thing to achieve, Brave does offer me some peace of mind. One of the major benefits I enjoy the most is the removal of advertisements, especially on platforms like YouTube. My experiences are never interrupted and I haven’t encountered many issues with websites not functioning correctly, although it can still occur. I personally do not use Brave Rewards, but it isn’t a terrible feature to take advantage of if you wish. I’ll conclude with it is a solid browser that is absolutely worth giving a try.

Been using this so for years; overall very very good. I do wish they would focus on the fundamentals though - lately my experience has been very buggy. YouTube still has lots of glitches, freezes, and audio drops. Closing a YouTube tab with something playing will keep it playing - even with the background media selection turned off. (Unlike many, I don’t prefer this behavior). Resizing a screen by pinching or expanding (to see detail if an image for example) will often trigger a full reload of the page. Today I found I cannot open links in certain social media posts - it just reloads the post. I see lots of development happening with features I’ll never use; CarPlay, playlists, etc.. I wish Brave would stick to what got it popular in the first place and not spread itself too thin.
